Maybe that is Life

"Maybe that's what life is, a wink of the eye and winking stars".
Jack Kerouac

Life in the desert is filled with stars and tiny winking eyes. The forecast calls for 100+ degree days. The significance of the temp is it will require night hikes for the next 3-4 days.

It's been a wild and wacky time here at Hiker Heaven. A desert outpost of trail angels and trail magic. It's an outpost of Wild West proportions. Tales are churned and spun. Trail names are earned, given and shared. Names like, Hoops, Legs, Old School, Legend, Captain Underwear, Yard Sale, Freight Train, Hot Fries, etc. etc. Feet are mended, food is devoured, alcohol and medicinal medicines are administered.
Hikers can get caught in a vortex of zero days.

"Mine is the sunshine,
Mine is the morning, "
Cat Stevens
Saturday morning, 9am, 90 degrees 😡 Hang overs and dust are the reality. We wait, we wait for the evening. Resting, mending, waiting.

Tomorrow, I begin the last stage of desert travel. The majority of which will be done at night. I will move with the creatures of the night.

Update, recent fire near Kennedy Meadows resupply pack station is under control. The journey continues towards the Sierra's.
